Some directories cost money in order to be accepted into their listings. Once again, while some of these can pass legitimate value, others pass little and aren't worth your time or money. Of all the channels we’ll be discussing, SEO is the one that there is the most misinformation about. Some of it is subtle, but some of it is widely spread and believed by so-called SEO consultants who actually don’t know what they’re doing. While most of the links to your site will be gained gradually, as people
discover your content through search or other ways and link to it,
Google understands that you'd like to let others know about the hard
work you've put into your content. Ranking in Google is getting more and more complex every day. The algorithm is this huge monstrosity and it is impossible to get anywhere even using all of the top SEO ranking factors.
The key is to find the keywords in our niches which have low competition
It’s important to keep in mind that if search engine traffic is your only goal, your results will probably suffer. In order to please both the search engines (who will reward you with high rankings over time) and potential customers and return visitors, you need to offer value above and beyond search engine optimization. In other words, don’t produce “thin” content that ranks and get clicks, but doesn’t provide any additional value to the search engine user. The first step once
you start an search engine optimization (SEO) project is to find out how many keywords you expect to use for all your pages. The number of keywords needed for an organic SEO project depends on the business and what words would be beneficial to provide the site with acceptable traffic. When launching a new website that replaces a previous version, use 301 Redirects to tell the search engines that your pages have moved. Doing so will retain your hard-earned Google Page Rank and your search engine positioning should stay more or less intact. If you do not use 301 Redirects when launching a new/replacement site, search engines will still have your old pages contained in their index, and both search engines and visitors seeking out your content will encounter broken pages when they try to visit your site. This will result in lots of 404 Page Not Found errors. When this happens, your search engine rankings will most likely drop. The increasing dominance of visual content online has brought with it new opportunities for increasing a site’s search traffic by optimizing videos and images.
Optimize Your Site's Code and Images
People tend to avoid advertising if they can. Erudite search engine users know where ad are placed in the results page. They know that people have paid to show up in those positions. They are more likely to click on organic/natural/merit based search results. Paid search results are considered advertisers, whereas organic results are seen as trusted experts offering the best information relative to their search query. Thin content is the
idea that there’s not much actual text on an ecommerce site compared to, say, a blog or software site. Imagine dozens and dozens of thin content pages created because of random product attribute and product filter pages. Some of those pages might only list one or two products. Internal linking is a really effective SEO technique – it helps search engines identify new pages on your website and indicates what your page is about. Google has drawn conclusions about user-behavior in search, realizing that searches prefer to see a variety of media formats for a given search query.
How do you make a Google friendly site?
Today, smartphone usage is so huge that more searches are done on smartphones than on computers. Making sure your website is mobile friendly is massively important. Reviews are an important factor for SEO. They help potential customers trying to decide whether to trust you. If your local business has a Google+ page and is marked on Google Maps, you need to have reviews. The best thing you can do is encourage your customers to leave reviews if they’re satisfied with your service. Try offering them an incentive, such as a small discount if they click on a link and leave a review. How you’ve worked in the past won’t be how you work in the future. That’s because the SEO practices that have long been the norm are now being seen in a very different light. From the threat of Google de-indexing sites to legislation breaches leading to criminal charges, the search practices of brands, agencies and bloggers are in the spotlight. Gaz Hall
, an SEO Expert from the UK, said: "With so many people using smartphones and tablet for their Internet search, it is imperative that you have a plan ready to compete for their business."
SEO doesn’t have to be hard or require an expert team to get results. If you’ve got a process and a structure, you can rank your content in search engines quite quickly. The navigation should help
the user browse the pages without problems. From the menu structure to the link structure and the page’s design, even a slight detail may impact the user experience. Search engines scan tags and categories to identify what products, blog posts, or gallery images are about. Adding tags and categories that accurately describe the item could help it appear in search results. I’d rather have a more relevant link with low authority. I’d hope that was better for traffic, but I’d not really expect it to have the same effect on rankings as a higher authority link with lower relevance.
