Speaking from experience, I have often seen product manufacturers describe a product from their point of view. Higher volumes of backlinks are great, but combining that with high diversity is what’s really going to move the needle. You should also focus on building internal links, as it can increase traffic on different pages of your website, which can send positive signals to Google. Once you’ve discovered your evangelists, think about ways to nurture and encourage them. At the simplest (and possibly most meaningful) level, find a way to thank them for spreading the word about your company.
