One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that keywords can
really keep web pages focused, which is important in SEO. We
look at buyer persona behavior, industry trends, competitors
and more to build a list of targeted terms, and then we focus
on one term per page. In doing so, we can more easily provide
value to our viewers. Search engines often reward you for updating old content. But remember, you only get a reward for actually making the content more relevant! Principally, technical SEO is concerned with how a website works, and how search engines are able to crawl and index our pages. Think of technical SEO as the foundations of your site – without it, whatever beautiful building you create won’t be as sturdy as you’d like. Make sure at least one image file name includes your target keyword and that your target keyword is part of your image Alt Text.
You don't need special search engine pages
Different people grasp information differently, and your business message has to be available in every form so that it can capture the attention of a wider audience. When pursuing a link,
which is more important, relevance or authority? Keep your descriptions under 150 characters to avoid a trail off (…). This shows visitors that you have intentionally put up an informative and helpful description, opposed to the randomly generated one that Google pulls for non-optimised pages. Meta descriptions are technically HTML attributes that offer concise explanations of what a webpage is about. They can be used on search engine result pages to show a preview for a webpage. They are far less of a direct ranking signal as they once were (almost not at all these days) BUT they remain important because – when Google chose to use the suggested meta description – they are the effective ‘sales pitch’ to users to click on your webpage.
Add Content Expiry Headers
It’s not enough to just know your keywords. You must use them in the right way to fully develop long-term SEO value. The best tactics include assigning one keyword to each page on your website and optimizing that page using on-site SEO best practices. That way you always publish SEO friendly posts and page content. Today, and for the
foreseeable future, SEO is much less about optimizing for specific keywords, and much more about technical issues, social signals, and the overall trustworthiness of a company and its website. Search engine algorithms will surely crawl video content directly instead of just crawling the text based content surrounding the video. This will gradually phase out the effectiveness of using “clickbait” to draw more attention to the video. Since heading tags typically make text contained in them larger than
normal text on the page, this is a visual cue to users that this text
is important and could help them understand something about
the type of content underneath the heading text.
Double check for broken links and other crawl errors
Gone are the days of keyword stuffing. Sentences actually need to make sense now. Optimise your website by ensuring that any published content is easy to read and digest. Natural keyword inclusion is acceptable, but make the readers your first priority, not the keywords. Google now indexes content from Facebook, Twitter and presumably more social media platforms to come. If your timing and relevance is right, your post could directly show up in search results. : Article marketing involves writing
one unique article, and then rearranging the words to transform that one
article into multiple versions. This rearranged article will then be placed
on different, usually low-quality article sites with highly optimized anchor
text links. We asked an SEO Specialist
, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Over the years, Google has continued to improve their link algorithms, including Penguin, and they continued to use manual penalties to crack down on link schemes as well."
Quality over Quantity
Don't forget that search/internet marketing is multi-faceted. Traditional Marketing 101 teachers would say to build a comprehensive plan for marketing. Don't just work the online factors, but create a sound strategy around offline marketing, using ideas like postcards, trade magazines ads, phone/sales work, word of mouth and additional tactics that can help create a "buzz" around your products and services. Go out of your
way to consistently create detailed content that brings enormous value to the end user, and you'll be on your way to dominating search. Is the page load time excessive? Too long a load time may slow down crawling and indexing of the site. Google’s algorithm takes into account users’ interactions and experience with a website based on how long they stay on a page and what webpage in the search results a user clicks on.
